2nd Place: Piebald

Genetics: Recessive
First Produced: 1997 (Peter Kahl Reptiles)
Familiarity: 100% of 53 ratings
Scorecard (1-4)

Pigment (3rd):         3.49
Pattern (2nd):          3.74
Potential (13th):      3.25

Avg Score (2nd):  3.49
The piebald is perhaps the oddest morph that leaves people in awe upon first sight. It is a color and pattern mutation that is most recognizable for having part of its body pure white and the other parts looking like a normal looking ball python.

Pigment (3rd) :  3.49
Parts of its body is pure white (un-pigmented) and the rest resembles a lighter colored normal ball python. It is not unusual to have orange/reddish flames coming up from the belly.

Pattern (2nd):  3.74
Piebalds have the most recognizable pattern of any morph, looking like two morphs merged into one, Frankenstein style! There are varying degrees of white, from all white except the head, 50% white, and virtually no white. Parts of the body that are not white have aberrant patterning, often having spots patched into the white that sometimes having smiley faces. It is second in pattern only to the clown.

Potential (13th):  3.25
Even though combos such as the panda pied, dreamsicle, and lightning pied are breathtaking, the piebald comes in at number 13 for potential. A big factor towards this is the fact that the combos would only affect the non-white portions and because the base is already such an awesome morph.

What was your reaction when you saw your first piebald?
